| Take a Virtual Tour of Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital |
Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital is a 143-bed, non-profit hospital, accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). Brooks is one of Florida's only state-designated treatment facilities for brain and spinal cord injuries for children and adults. We are also one of only two inpatient rehabilitation centers in Florida that treats infants and young children.
Expertise in a broad range of treatment areas
Our programmatic approach to care is organized around five Centers of Excellence: stroke, brain injury, orthopedics, spinal cord injury and pediatrics. The intensive specialization of our caregivers in each of these areas means that they are able to give our patients access to the latest treatments with the best outcomes.
In addition to our Centers of Excellence, Brooks has several other comprehensive inpatient programs, including: amputee, hip fractureand neurological disorders.
Your treatment team
All of our programs are fueled by an integrated team of rehabilitation experts. This team includes therapists of several disciplines, nurses and our highly qualified board-certified physiatrists, who are medical doctors specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation. Brooks offers the best patient-to-nurse and patient-to-therapist ratios among rehabilitation providers in the region—resulting in better outcomes.
The quality and success of our team approach is demonstrated by the fact that Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital is consistently ranked in the top 10% in the country for patient satisfaction.

A more inspiring environment
Being a patient in a hospital is not the same as being a patient at Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital. Here, you won’t find hospital gowns. Our goal is to help you regain your independence, so every day you’ll wake up and get dressed in your own clothes for therapy. This is just one of the many elements of treatment designed to prepare you for your return home.
Our entire hospital was designed specifically for rehabilitation. Dramatic murals and familiar street signs line the hallways and make patients feel at home, but also help with orientation and guidance. Color-coded floor tiles and hallways named after local areas make it easy for patients to remember where their rooms are and how to get there. The elevators are even equipped with mirrors so wheelchair patients can easily view the space around them.
After experiencing what Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital has to offer, 97% of inpatients have reported that they would recommend Brooks to their friends and family.
