On June 30th of 2008 Brooks Home Care Advantage became a part of the Brooks Health System in Jacksonville Florida. As a successful, well run business for more than 11 years Brooks Home Care Advantage was originally founded with the goal of delivering quality care to seniors and to make it possible for them to remain in the comfort of their own homes and was originally started as a family owned business.
The creation of Brooks Home Care Advantage adds another level to the continuum of care Brooks provides for our patients and it fits our strategy of returning patients to their homes. The original founder, Karen Wright-Bennett has 25 years of nursing experience and was named one of Jacksonville Business Journal's "Women of Influence" in 2008. Brooks Home Care Advantage was also awarded the "Largest Home Care Agency in Jacksonville" in 2008 by the Jacksonville Business Journal. Karen's experice has provided her with the unique opportunity to observe, first-hand, the challenges that seniors face each day. Challenges such as moving about safely within their homes, bathing, dressing and proper nutrition were but a few of the many areas investigated.
