At Brooks Outpatient Rehabilitation, there’s only one result we’re interested in achieving: you being you again. And we pursue that result with extreme determination. Our patient-to-staff ratio is among the best in the region. This personalized approach helps achieve better outcomes.
Setting and achieving your goals
Ongoing dialogue and one-on-one time with your therapist are the keys to reaching your treatment goals. In the beginning, you and your therapist will shape and set your goals together. These goals will involve setting targets for increasing your abilities—as well as those goals you’d like to achieve at home, at work and in your everyday life.
As your therapy continues, you and your therapist will meet to discuss your progress. These discussions provide frequent opportunities to review and, if necessary, modify your therapy plan. We also involve your family in helping you to meet your therapy goals and work towards achieving optimum independence.
Your outpatient routine
The first time you visit an outpatient clinic for a scheduled therapy appointment, please check in at the main desk. On the day of your first visit, you will be asked to come at least 20 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment. This will allow you time to complete registration, including necessary consent forms.
Most patients come in for therapy 2-to-3 days a week. We know that you are most likely fitting your therapy into your already busy day, and we will do out best to accommodate you when arranging appointments. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment for any reason, please call at least 24 hours in advance. Due to the volume of appointments, therapists will not be able wait more than 15 minutes if you are running late.
In order to provide a safe environment for you and our other patients, please do not bring small children to your therapy appointment unless accompanied by another adult. Our staff is not able to provide proper supervision for unattended children and cannot guarantee their safety and security. Having to worry about leaving your child(ren) unattended may also interfere with your ability to concentrate on your therapy. Please discuss any such issues with the clinic manager.
