The Brooks/UNF Orthopaedic Residency program began with six residents in January 2007.  The first program completed their training in December of 2007.  The program immediately continued with a second group of participants in January 2008.

It is the expectation to have an Orthopaedic Residency every year.  The Brooks/UNF Orthopaedic Residency program was the first of Orthopaedic Residency program credentialed by the APTA within the state of Florida.  This program has served as the foundation for all other residency and fellowship training programs that will be created within the Brooks/UNF collaboration.

This program will have a strong collaboration with several external partners including Shands/UF Hospital of Jacksonville, the University of Florida and the University of St. Augustine.  Bob Rowe, PT, DPT, DMT, MHS, FAAOMPT is the Coordinator of this program and together with co-developer Rusty Smith, PT, EdD, OCS, FAAOMPT, has developed a program that prepares individuals for the OCS exam and beyond.

The core faculty, as well as the clinical faculty, makes up an extremely strong group of nationally recognized experts in the field of orthopaedic/musculoskeletal practice.
